Have you checked KRBE's playlist?

Lately, the station has been some older Top 40 songs as it tries to diffrentiate from their competitor, Hot 95-7. I've been hearing The Cure, Depeche Mode, and even 4 Non Blondes' "What Going On?" along with current hits from Rhianna, The Jonas Brothers, Coldplay, and Jordan Sparks. I think it does have a strong impact on how the way we listen. I believe it is a smart move for the Cumulus-owned station.

Smart move for a CHR? Hardly. Hot AC? sure.

Call it a Hot AC if you want. It's winning the CHR battle.

Have you checked Hot 95.7's playlist this week? "My Immortal," "Here Without You,'" "This Love" to name a few. During the day, they defintely have toned things down.

Don't think so. Apparently, the kids will be heading back to class because school starts Monday for most of The Houston Area School Districts. They don't have to worry about them hearing both of these stations. I think 104 is winning the battle between these 2 Hit-Radiio stations. as we speak.

I think it's a smart move for KRBE. When Cumulus came in they mangled the whole station. Now, they are seeing the results. KRBE was was at it's peak from 1994 - 2000. They played TOP 40 hits with retro cuts mixed in once or twice an hour. This format kept me tuned in day and night. Now, with KRBE's previous format, I think they will boost in the ratings...trying to keep up with HOT 95.7 and Mix 96.5. Just sit back and see what happens. Now, if only they would go back to the Roxy on Saturday nights for The Beat. Playing more trance, house and breakbeats. Give KRBE the sound they used to have for The Space City!! ...when they were GOOD!! ;D

Might be a good move to play off of its hertiage by playing some more 90s gold, as long as it is in moderation.

What scratches my head though is that KRBE has some younger rhythmic songs like "Dangerous", "Sexy Can I" and "Lollipop" in rotation, but not a straight up the middle top 5 pop/rock track in Metro Station "Shake It" ???

"Hits Without the Hype....104 KRBE". Do what you say...and say what you do. Radio 101
