Have you ever gotten more than one NFL game on a network on cable?

We were at a friends house in 88, and on cable were WYFF/4 and WCNC/36. WYFF carried Indianapolis at Green Bay from Lambeau Field, but WCNC carried from Cincinnati at Kansas City from Arrowhead Stadium. Both were NBC games. Has that happened before where you got more than one game from a network on cable?

Used to happen a lot when cable systems in central Connecticut used to carry NYC network affiliates. We'd often get Patriots on WVIT New Britain/Hartford, Jets on WNBC New York.

I assume you mean "at the same time" because if you don't then it happens constantly. Where I live I get 2 CBS & 2 FOX stations and there have been weeks that I got 2 different games on CBS...but not same time ;)

But if you mean same time then it still happens all the time. All you need is an area with multiple CBS or FOX affiliates on cable and depending on location the odds are pretty decent that it will happen

There are places in Northern Iowa that get KCCI (Des Moines) and KEYC (Mankato, MN) or KMEG(Sioux City, IA) and you'll have 2 different games same network same time
Estherville, IA is a great example. They get KMEG & KEYC on cable. Last year there were 7 examples of different games same time on CBS
-week 7 late. KMEG had Denver/Chargers, KEYC had Cincy/Pittsburgh
-week 8 KMEG Oak/Buffalo, KEYC Chargers/Pats
-week 11 KMEG KC/NYG, KEYC Packers/Baltimore
-week 12 KMEG Buf/KC, KEYC Miami/Pats
-week 13 KMEG KC/NYJ, KEYC Bears/San Fran
-week 16 KMEG Denver/Wash, KEYC Buff/NE
-week 17 late KMEG KC/Denver, KEYC Jax/TN

I'm sure there are a boatload of areas where this common. Heck even Jonesboro, Arkansas has multiple weeks of multiple CBS games due to havinmg their own CBS (which follows KC games) and WREG Memphis which does Titans games

Quite frequently...when I lived in Hilton Head, SC cable subscribers got both Savannah (primary) and Charleston (in the 800’s on Hargray digital). WTGS, the Fox station for Savannah would always show Falcons games. WTAT, the Fox station in Charleston, would always show Panthers games.

Basically, from what I understand, Fox/CBS affiliates can “cherry pick” from a slate of games being covered by their respective networks...assuming their home team isn’t one of them

When I lived in the Dyersburg, TN area we could get CBS from Memphis and Cape Griardeau, MO and NBC from Memphis and Paducah, KY either by OTA or cable. ABC came from Memphis and Jackson, TN, and since ABC carried only Monday night or special games and post season, they would be the same. Fox also came from Memphis and Jackson (Only in the early 90's and from 2006 on), so it was usually the same game there as well.

Although I can't recall specific games and times, I do know in a lot of cases, Memphis would more likely to carry Southern teams (Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Florida teams, and later Tennessee and Carolina when they were moved or added), and Paducah and Cape Girardeau would carry more Midwestern teams (Chicago, Indianapolis, Kansas City, and St. Louis before they moved, although they may have carried Tennessee as well. I would guess there are similar divisions now, but the combination of the digital conversion and moving to the Jackson area has left it where I don't know how it is now.

It used to happen a lot because the Charlotte station would carry the Redskins game, but the Asheville one would air the Falcons game. One time, Charlotte aired the Eagles/Raiders game, while Asheville aired the Falcons/Dolphins game. Both were 4:00 games, resulting in the situation of the Asheville station, which was based in the Upstate airing 60 Minutes earlier, while the Charlotte one on cable still had the Eagles/Raiders game which wasn't over.

It's happened recently, in 2012 there was one week where WCCB/18 aired New Orleans @ Green Bay, but WHNS/21 aired Washington @ Tampa Bay. Same thing in 2016-there was one week where Charlotte aired Dallas @ Green Bay, but Asheville aired Atlanta @ Seattle.

When I worked at WLFI, Lafayette IN, we had permission to carry the Chicago Bears games even though it was a deviation. WISH carried the prescribed "Southwestern feed" whatever that was, so cable viewers that could get both (even in Lafayette) could choose from those 2 games.

Used to happen a lot when I lived in Michigan. I was on cable systems that carried stations from multiple nearby markets (Toledo and Lansing and Kalamazoo-Grand Rapids, or Flint-Saginaw-Detroit). Very often the affiliates of the same network were carrying different games. Since the Lions were usually blacked out at that time each station got their pick of an alternate game to air.

We get a lot of Steelers games, because one time in 2012, the Upstate and Western North Carolina got Pittsburgh @ Oakland, but everyone else in the state got Houston @ Denver. I wonder how that happened, since the Houston @ Denver game seemed to be more marquee.

Happens to me a lot. I live in the Minneapolis/St Paul market but our cable System also includes the CBS station from Sioux Falls SD as a significantly viewed station. That station also microwaves there signal to Rapid City SD. So whenever Minnesota is at home and WCCO can't show a game opposite the Vikings we do get a game out of Sioux Falls. There are weekends where I get 4 games.(Generally different late games and 2 games in the early time slot)

This week, it seems odd. While Asheville is getting the Pittsburgh @ Baltimore contest, Charlotte is getting the Houston @ Denver game. It's odd, because the Denver game should be airing only in Colorado and Texas.

simple
Carolina is at home on FOX...therefore Charlotte CBS MUST show the late game. I guess they would rather show Houston/Denver instead of Chargers/Seattle. They are the only affiliate east of the Mississippi showing it (the rest are showing LAC/Sea). Ashville can show the early game.

Oh and most of the mountain time zone is showing Denver....and most of Texas sans Dallas and Lubbock (showing Cleveland/KC for Patrick Mahomes)
