This was stolen from Runrigger's original post on the Providence Board (Thanks runringger for the idea!)

Have you ever as a listener:
(1)Called a talk show?
(2)Called a request line?
(3)Entered a radio contest?
(4)Showed up at a remote because the station was there
rather than by accident?

(5)Voiced a complaint about a station either casually to a
jock on the phone or formally to someone in charge?

(6)Mentioned to a sponsor that you heard their ad on a
station?

How about as a radio person?
(1)Received gifts from listeners?

(2)Gotten blatant sexual offers on the phone?

(3)Just showed up at a station with an aircheck hoping for
an interview?

(4) Secretly hoped the station you worked at did poorly just
so they would change format?

Yes. Fully cooked breakfast, in the control room when I came to sign on the station. It took me 10 minutes to realize that the listener had entered the station, left the meal, and departed without setting off the alarm.....

More than once, I've been told to go **** myself....

Begged, but I see the point.

No, because the places I worked it, if..and when ..they changed formats, they changed the entire staff.....

>1. More home made food items than I could ever count, clothes, movies (Hollywood not porn), drugs (didn't use 'em), even tickets to other radio stations events!
2. Lots of women, 1 guy (I'm a guy so THAT made me feel good...NOT!) And remember a 10 on the phone can actually be a 10, but often is a 2 or 3.

4. NEVER! I always play to win, you should too! Think positive about your situation and give it your best EVERY FRICKIN' DAY!

Sexual, no, though I did have a listener pretend she had romantic interest in me as a way for her to get her "shoutouts" on the air, I did make an attempt to call her bluff to get her to stop (could have won awards for some of the acting I did on the phone, then again, maybe she could have too?)

Now...

Have you as an engineer ever:

(1) Kicked the satellite dish because you couldn't stand to hear one of the programs?

(2) Had an "accident" with the automation software just so you could play an hour of songs you wanted to hear?

(3) Taken a female into the engineering room and had her actually be impressed by the nerdism of things?

(4) Convinced a brand new intern to discharge the tranny for you?

(5) Spent an afternoon writing up fake readings because you heard the FCC was in town?<P ID="signature">______________

I never heard the FCC was in town, just the EPA, and when I called them to find out which station in town they were claiming was running hazerdous rfi levels, they never got back to me (though I think the lump on ther back of my neck might be the answer I never hoped to hear)

No, because I'd be the one fixing it later.

>
> (2) Had an "accident" with the automation software just so

No, in this day of automated station logs , it's tough to go unnoticed.
Mind you the only automation i've used is in college radio.

> (3) Taken a female into the engineering room and had her
> actually be impressed by the nerdism of things?

Yes! She actually asked to see the rack tech room!

> (4) Convinced a brand new intern to discharge the tranny for
> you?

Nope.

> (5) Spent an afternoon writing up fake readings because you

Who Me? NOOOO. And I've never made up fake log pages (using two pens) to replace those which went missing either at the year end collation either...

> No, in this day of automated station logs , it's tough to go

Steps to playing what you want to hear. Works when you're using more than 1 pot on the board.

1) Find a song with a similar length in the log
2) Pot down the one with the song and keep the current song and sweeper up
3) When the sweeper is over, play it off of cd while the automation system plays the other song (with it potted down)
4) Use a jingle or a sweeper as a bumper and just pot up the automation again
5) The log says nothing out of the ordinary happened

Sincerely,
