Have You Heard These Re-Makes?

Astrud Gilberto's sultry 8 minute cover version of Chicago-Beginnings. How about Sammy Davis Jr's cover of Issac Hayes-Shack? I didn't even know these versions existed until now. Does anybody else know of any other strange remakes like this?

I heard these songs on Luxuria Music on 1.fm. They play lot's of 60s/early 70s instrumentals, lounge music, and obscurities. I think some of you on this board would really enjoy it.

Mrs Miller - Downtown
Cassius Clay - Stand By Me
David MacCullum - I Can't Get No(Satisfaction)

The whole "Hey Jude / Hey Bing!" LP was a bit odd... although a few plays through made some of the versions endearing.

If you've never heard it, there are samples and mp3 downloads for sale here http://www.amazon.com/Hey-Jude-Bing/dp/B0037ZZAUA/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1326167942&sr=8-4 although I must warn you: whoever mastered this SLOWED DOWN the original tape... I'm guessing a couple of percent or more! It takes what wasn't the strongest performances anyway and REALLY shines the light on rough patches. If you download 'em, speed 'em up at the LEAST two, maybe FOUR percent to get it back to the LP version.

I'm a pretty big fan of Sammy Davis's version of Mr. Bojangles, although the first time I heard it on the radio I just stood there and stared at the speaker, trying to figure out what I was hearing...
