Haven't Met You Yet

This song is starting to show some activity on CHR. Does Michael Buble belong on CHR? I heard it around Ke$ha, Taio Cruz, Script, GaGa, Justin Bieber, Trey Songz and Rhianna on a local CHR station.

Does anyone else think it sounds a little out of place? It seems much more AC and maybe Hot AC.

It's more upbeat than a lot of his other music. I'd give it a test spin or two to get some reaction. If "I'm Your" and "Hey Soul Sister" can make it, I can't see what "Haven't Met You Yet" couldn't. I do realize that Jason Mraz and Train, while not a lot, do have some CHR recognition.

I think it sounds good on the format. It's a catchy song and it adds variety and balance. Many CHRs these days do surprisingly well in women 25-49 and songs like this keep them from drifting to AC. As long as CHR doesn't go crazy and play too many AC leaning songs. Just stick to the cream of the crop like this song. Historically, AC crossovers had their place on CHR and it can still work today.

I like this song...it compliments the more urban feel of the new up-tempo things. I don't think that Ke$ha's "Your Love Is My Drug" & Michael Buble's "Haven't Met You Yet" are all that different - and both appeal to the same broad female audience. As Sean Ross said, mother/daughter hits.

This isn't a criticism, but why are so many "walking on eggshells" wondering if it's okay to play a popular Michael Buble song on CHR/Pop radio?

If it's popular and selling (currently in top 30 on Billboard) then play it. Isn't that what Pop radio is all about?

It seems like there is way too much concern about a categorizing songs nowadays. JMO...

I'm still waiting for our local CC CHR clone Kiss 95.3 to play this. I guess that Clear Channel hasn't added it to their CHR Prem Choice lineup (yet).

The song still has a bullet on Billboard.

I thought the same about "I Just Whisper Your Name" by Harry Connick Jr. when it first came out, but Top 40 is Top 40! It's better (IMO) than the "love to hate" tunes of Jason Mraz (especially "Geek in the Pink").
