Live streaming took another hit last night when HBO Now crashed for many subscribers during an episode of the immensely popular drama, Game of Thrones.
Thousands of HBO Now subscribers took to social media sites to express their anger that they could not watch the streaming service which costs $15 a month.
"Dear HBO Now, I will accept a full refund or a month's free -- you decide," one upset customer wrote on Twitter last night at 9:31 p.m. ET.
HBO Now's Twitter customer service page acknowledged the issue during the episode. At 10:12 p.m. ET, the customer team said the problem had been fixed, but subscribers continued to post comments saying they could not access the service. At one point last night, DownDetector.com, the web site that tracks online outages, reported 15,000 HBO subscribers were complaining at the same time on Twitter and Facebook.
HBO Go, the streaming version of the premium channel that requires a pay TV sub, also reported having issues last night, particularly for subscribers of Cox Cable.
The HBO Go Twitter customer service page last night was overflowing with apologies and promises to Cox customers that the problem would be fixed.
