HBO'S NEW GRAPHICS

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned HBO's total graphics makeover.

A very sedate graphic style...very understated...

Don't tell me they've dropped the "O" or something crazy like that... ::)

Well I was actually expecting a change on April 1st for 3 reasons.
1. The previous graphics were in use for 5 years now (and that awful "feature presentation" has been in use on all 6 HBO channels for over 10 years.)

2. The last time they changed them in 06, it was on April 1st.

3. Ondemand programs has had a new intro for a few weeks.

Anyway as for reviews not that impressed. It looks very similar to the package Cinemax had up until 08, except with with worse music ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RkvWI69QSr4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DI621VqhwBc )

HBO seems to be heading towards like Cinemax too in lack of voice overs. The coming up next & tonight bumpers are now voiceless.

The one bright spot is they have a new "feature presentation" intro. It isn't anything special, infact its not really a intro at all, just a bumper that says feature presentation. I was hoping they would go back with this intro http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gc3CdRxNsZ8 only with a more updated graphic. Or even HBO in space, which a few years ago I heard was gonna return, but updated. Anyway, despite none of those returning, its still the only bright side to the graphics update, as I no longer have to see the previous one.

Anyway, I generally don't care about new graphics, but HBO is so slow at updating them its worth noting when one happens. If HBO continues with its current schedule that has been going since 1996 Cinemax will get a new look in 2013, & HBO will get its next one in 2016.

Maybe this is why the cost of HBO goes up about $2/year. ;D
I think it's almost $20/month now on Verizon and more than that on Comcast.
