HD-2 in miami

3 more stations have added an HD-2 broadcast. 93.1 hd-2 is classic rock that really rocks. It seems much harder than big 106. Like a classic rock station should be. No ballads there. 97.3 HD2 is all 80's channel. And hot 105.1HD is an R and B oldies station. Just to let u few people know who actually have an HD radio like me.

AWWW MAN ~! i was hoping we would get a dance channel from cox ( something like the old party 931 ) on HD2, i thought it would have been on 93.1 but o welll ill hold out for an HD-3

yah i know about powers-hd2 dance, but for people that know what dance music is. Powers dance interpretation is waterd down beer, they play pretty much all unknown dance artists nor do they play any miami based freestyle. They nothing compared to party 931 which they are/were trying to be like. Thats why Power went HD/dance to compete with the former WPYM
Party had the flavor of Miami, ive given powers dance channel a good listening to. its nothing.

Critics of PARTY-93.1 often complained that they were the 'watered-down cola' version of real dance music. PARTY started out as in innovator in 2002, but they had gone stale by 2003. In 2004 they were merely just going through the motions.

POWER-96's HD sub-channel went on with pure dance music not to compete against PARTY-93.1 since the latter had been long gone (from the airwaves) by the time that POWER-96.2 went on.

to be honest, party never really had the flavor of miami... they played trance music and trance remakes of pop songs. it was more than a watered-down version of the scene..it was fast-food; put together quickly, looks nothing like what they advertise, tastes like cardboard then give you the stomach runs and it ends up in the toilet. no pun intended.

if you ever get a chance...listen to bbc radio 1 friday afternoon. they are much more progressive and up to date in the scene because the sound is european. trance never was american..techno on the other hand IS, but not trance..

I couldn't agree with you more. I wanted to be somewhat nice in describing 'PARTY-93.1' (rest-in-peace) because I actually enjoyed / loved listening to the station during the first 18 months or so. It was something new (for me) on the radio. It allowed me to re-live the good times that I enjoyed out there on the dance floor while at home, at work, and in my car.

Having lived in the U.K. and listened to BBC Radio 1 every single day for two years of my life (20+ years ago nevertheless) I can concur with you that they are the absolute epitome of innovating pop music radio stations in the entire world.

Trance is Belgium. Techno is Germany. Breakbeats is Tampa / Orlando.
