HD 2 silent detector.

This an operation (name with held to protect the guilty) that has a translator that is "feed" by an HD2 for FCC filings. Actually they use a Barix and the Internet. In a effort to remain "legal" they have a silent detector hooked up to a receiver tuned to HD 2. Apparently some time over the Holidays there was brief power outage. The generator came on after the 30 sec wait time. The receiver came back on to the analog signal of the FM. The HD in the same rack didn't reset. Nobody at the station noticed. The UPS that ran that rack is beeping which usually means the battery in the unit is toast. Apparently it has been beeping for a month or two but everything was working so no need to tell anyone. They have ordered another UPS which should be there tomorrow. Next time I am there I will try the battery replacement "trick" and they might have a "spare".

My question: has anyone have a suggestion for a FM HD receiver that will come back on to an HD2 setting?

This most likely will happen again. The station is on a circuit that is prone to tree limbs. The road runs thru woods for about 2 miles. (There is politics at play). The county actually bought the generator for the station using a "grant" because it has EMS radios on the tower. He just "buys" the propane which is a trade out. My cousin does have a knack for making lemonade out of lemons.

I have an Inovonics 639 HD receiver that I just tested, and it does come back up on HD-2 (or whatever it was tuned to) after a power cycle.

Not sure if this is their current product, since they upgrade their offerings fairly frequently, but I would guess that the newer ones behave the same way.
