is it likely most FM stations will use both HD2 and HD3 channels in the future? are the power and coverage area of HD2 and HD3 in theory similiar to that of their primary HD1 channel?

The HD 2 & HD 3 coverage areas should be the same. In NYC, WNYC has put WNYC AM's audio on their FM's HD 3 stream. It sounds great and is a good idea especially in my area where WNYC AM's post sunset signal (1 KW) isn't all that strong.

what does WNYC air on its HD2 channel? do you hear the other NYC --HD2 channels well? how about any others on HD3?

WNYC 820 AM is heard on WNYC HD & WNYC HD 3

WNYC 93.9 FM is heard on WNYC HD 2..not sure why there isn't any different programming be heard on HD 2 & HD 3 stations.

WNYC 93.9 is heard on HD 1, 24/7 Classical music is heard on HD 2 and WNYC AM is heard on HD 3.
