HD a bust at the CES in Vegas

My equipment is rather limited (XpressRC -> FM modulator -> standard Ford system), but which FOUR channels would you suggest I check out, tonight ???

I remember the premium channel mentioned in the advert: first there was Playboy Radio, then Opie & Anthony (or the other way around.

The channel I recommend is NOT in their free samples: "Escape" CH69 - it is just like your 1979 FM Beautiful Music Channel. "The Bridge" - soft folk pop rock channel ALSO not included in the free sample drive.

So I suggest only TWO of the sample channels: classic country from Willie Nelson's "Willie's Roadhouse" on XM56; morning drive time only on CH6 with Phlash Phelps - who truly brings back the feel of the 60's DJ with phone calls and requests and music to fit the topic of the day.

The rest of the 'decades' channels have been destroyed with the merger of Sirius into XM; 7 is on retard autopilot; 8 has burned-out voicetracked MTV hosts; 5 & 6 have moments of genius followed by repetitive playlists (by SatRad standards).

I do have a 3rd suggestion: don't miss (1978 on) American Top 40 on Saturday at Noon Eastern on 70s on 7 (even though SXM edited, wrecked and hacked-up AT-40 to rid the shows of any song reference before Jan 1, 1970).

I grew up on AM radio (outside it's 77 W-A-B-C-Degrees); my Ipod has most songs at 64 kbps so I can cram more of them on there (8000+ at the moment). Obviously sound quality is not a huge issue for me.

While I completely concur that 70s on 7 and 80s on 8, channels I used to listen to a lot, have gone in the toilet since the merger (70s due to repetition, 80s due to VJs without video), I will not drop my XM because of the spoken word channels (NPR, CNN, MSNBC, POTUS, comedy), which are > 90% of my radio listening in the car (and something terrestrial radio can't provide).

I listen to Underground garage quite a bit, then deep cuts. The jazz channel is pretty good and so is sometimes the blues channel. There is quite a bit if you check around. The 50's and 60's channels are pretty good too at least late at night.

I can not tell which channels are offered within a free sample package, so why would it matter?
The only channels I do not get are the "Best of Sirius" ones, mostly sports coverage.
