HD AM Christmas Music with the Accurian

Attempting to record off the Accurian on Christmas... I thought it would be cool to capture some HD AM's broadcasting music... especially WOR, which sounds much better than expected in analog playing music..

Anyway, I noticed on the Accurian that even though it captured the HD signal, it didn't bounce to stereo unless I had 4 bars on the signal strength indicator. It was actually quite annoying to listen to as the radio "bounced" from stereo to mono and back as the signal indicator went from 2-3 to 4-5. Is this normal? The signal stayed locked in HD, but would not stay in stereo.
 
You need a killer signal strength for stereo on HD on AM.

As many have observed here on this forum, the AM HD system has serious issues. Issues that will most likely not get it approved.

Sure sounds good when it works, though. Someday they'll get it right or get it MOVED.
