HD changes

The smoothest place on the planet (Smooth Jazz) has resurfaced on WHAL's HD2.

WEGR's HD2 is gone taking the WREC simulcast with it.

of course only DE, Myself, and 3 other people are affected by this. Clear Channel probably doesn't even know since last I heard they couldn't even monitor the HD2's

How many HD radios in Memphis Metro?
The salvation of terrestrial radio is too little too late.
Long live Pandora!

WREC is back today.

I have noticed a few after market radios lately that will pair with smartphones and control pandora on them.
I am sure no one knows how many HD radios are in town but I am the only person I know with one.

I have one in my Jeep. I enjoy it except for when some stations' analog/digital alignment comes unglued. It is fairly annoying trying to listen to a signal that sounds like an alternately sticking and skipping CD.

You must be hear...ings. I have never have never once heard that on ation.

I don't think it was that it didn't work. Jazz had the best ratings that frequency has seen. I think the flip came because of was fear the ratings were coming at a cost to WRBO.

After Smooth Jazz 98.9 was Urban as Power 99
and Hot AC as Kim.
98.9 still holds the WKIM call letters.

I must say that's an interesting observation. I would have thought that Barnstable wouldn't have put a format in place in the first place that would have taken away from WRBO. I was surprised when 98.9 dropped Smooth Jazz.
