HD channels with the least amount of HD programming

Kind of funny that they're showing films in SD 4:3, even though HD prints in their original ratio are available -- "Blazing Saddles" is 2.35:1, while "Son in Law" is 1.85:1. (4:3 = 1.33:1)

Since they have a separate HD signal, why can't they take more advantage of it?

Isn't TBS a big offender of this, from what I've read here in the past?

Hallmark seems to show nothing in HD from what I noticed while passing their HD channel. It always has two black bars on the sides with the right black bar saying HD which is next to the Hallmark logo. Sure a lot of their shows are in 4:3 because they air a lot of older programs.

Some of the Viacom networks, CMT, BET, Nick aren't always airing programs in HD, sure some of those porgrams are older.

Conan, Lopez and Baseball are in HD, but the non HD daytime sitcom reruns are in stretchovision

House of Payne, Meet The Browns, Everybody Loves Raymond, The Office, King of Queens, Seinfeld, (some) American Dad, and some movies are presented in HD.

The worst thing is that all of the music videos on these channels are given to Viacom in HD by default (I think the music video industry was easily among the first to convert to HD way back in 2000), but I have never seen one played in HD on these networks except for BET (which is under a different management); it's always stuck in the 4:3 frame with letterboxing on their HD channels (mainly so they can edge in Captain Obvious "this is Nicki Minaj with Superbass" tags and news tickers. But Fuse shows them in their native formats. For those diehards who still watch music videos this is very galling.

During the NCAA March Madness tournament, truTV HD was only good for the basketball. The rest was stretched. Perhaps that's why it was removed so quickly by cablers after it was not needed.

I don't understand that either. The only Viacom music network that shows music videos in HD is Pandro (think thats how its spelled)

Funny that TruTV is stretching its non-HD shows, but not its commercials, as I witnessed recently. Of course, the Bright House system where I live just recently added the HD TruTV to its line-up -- after basketball has long-ended.

Did you mean Palladia? I think you confused it with the Pandora streaming service. ::)
