I waited a while on posting this, but it seems that with my 1966 Bendix AM/FM car radio, I get 2 or 3 different distinct volume changes as I drive along.
It doesn't seem to happen with the non HD stations. Are the HD sidebands ovrloading the old-fashioned peak limiters in the FM IF?
Maybe this should be on the engineering board?
And does anyone else use an FM mono radio with a ratio detector? (Pre-AFC days)
