HD Musings

You are correct. They are running two 35kW transmitters in parallel. Very high TPO.

There is a road, just E of Harrisonburg VA where I can receive WSOC 103.7 at night. Apparently in this particular spot there is a null to 103.7 in Richmond and Charlotte comes in. At over 200 miles away, I don't doubt WSOC's TPO at all!

I remember in the real old days when to get good FM reception you needed an outside antenna. A lot of the old Zenith tube radios have antenna terminals, and they were and still are more sensitive and selective than a "dollar store radio". You get what you pay for. I have a turnstile antenna inside ( I guess you know now I'm not married) sitting on the love seat in the living room. I can get the GSP FM stations. Most of their HD. I can only get WCOS-FM's HD and some of the Augusta FM HD signals. YAWN. It's nothing new and exciting to listen to. I did get the HD from WFAE a couple times.....

IF I put the antenna outside reception will impove quite a bit.
