HD Part of Business Model for Broadcasters?

It's another attempt to drive a specific agenda through "media coverage." This plot is not unlike the national issues polls conducted by CBS, NBC, Chicken Noodle Network and other partisans which set up a "debate."

The outcome is generally predetermined - the "opinion poll" results are contrived to support a desired position or political stance.

Fortunately, in all-things-IBOC, most radio broadcasters are too smart to fall for this kind of nonsense. Which is why HD is such a rousing success thus far. (That, and the fact that it doesn't work well.)

The pro-HD tub-thumping also doesn't serve industry publications very well. iBiquity-loving Radio Magazine has dwindled to an online-only version and....has anybody noticed The Incredible Shrinking Radio World lately? If it gets much thinner, they're gonna have to rename it Radio World Pamphlet.

Hello? HELLO? Isn't it time to stop pounding precious resources into the black hole of HD and get back to programming and promoting interesting and entertaining radio stations???

Dude, that's funny.

Unfortunately, those that support IBOC seem to have come down sensory disorder and a sever case of denial. If we could forget all this nonsense and get back to broadcasting real radio, you know, entertaining listeners and such, then perhaps the business could turn around.
