Hd Question: Mono vs Bitrate

Anyone know at what bitrate HD streams revert to mono only? We are currently running 64kbps on HD1 and 16kbps on 2 and 3. HD2 and 3 are mono despite the stereo feed to the importer/exporter.

Should anyone else confront this issue, here's the answer to my own question; below 32kbps HD reverts to mono. With the expanded bandwidth and new Importer Software I was able to up the bit rate on my HD2 so I could get a stereo signal. My HD3, while having a higher bit-rate than prior to the revision, is still mono. So my config is now, 64kbps HD1, 32kbps HD2 and 24kbps HD3. The bit-rate change is fairly easy to do. It does result in a minute or so HD drop out, so beware.

On my HD system, I have my HD1@32kbps, HD2@32kbps, HD3@32kbps and HD4@24kbps all stereo and all playing music and the quality of my HD4 far surpasses the quality of the higher bit rate Satellite Radio Channels like 60's on 6 or The Bridge on chnl 32

And when using a Optimod or other hi-end processor for your FM/HD1, 32kbps sounds just like analog FM, without the multipath

On my other HD system I am doing HD1@48kbps, HD2@24kbps, HD3@24kbps and HD4@24kbps again all in stereo and all playing music and still sounds better than XM

But, to answer your question if you look at your importers configurations even at 16kbps and as low as 8.1kbps (hate to hear what 8.1 would sound like) you can do stereo,
