HD Radio "Agenda"

The only people with an "agenda" are those peddling defective, expensive, HD Radio iBiquity system for fun and profit.
Those who are HD opponents are just asking for the newly added, destructive, HD Radio buzz and adjacent channel interference to be turned off, and disappear, from their analog radios, can hardly be said to have a profit motive or "agenda". HD Radio opponents just want back what they had before, and was taken away by an incompatible, destructive, unnecessary, unpopular, digital hybrid HD Radio system.
The only "agenda" is the plan by HD supporters to get a proprietary, destructive technology (HD Radio) approved for their benefit, at the expense of the public.
HD Radio approval, (to benefit the few, at the expense and inconvenience of the many) is certainly the only "agenda". Extensive lobbying, formation of the "HD Radio Alliance" cartel, and hundreds of millions of dollars have been mis-spent to promote an inferior, proprietary, incompatible, defective, digital system to profit a few large corporations, and interfere with analog broadcasts used by hundreds of millions of North Americans.
HD Radio iBiquity adjacent channel hybrid digital mixed mode broadcasting, does far more harm then good, or then can be justified by any slight over hyped fantasy benefits that are claimed to be public gains by HD supporters.

HD radio faces several obstacles, according to Pat Walsh, senior vice president of iBiquity Digital, the chief developers of HD technology. First on the HD radio agenda: letting people know it exists. "In this age of so many different digital devices, it's breaking through all this digital clutter and getting out awareness of HD radio's existence," Walsh said.

Looks like 2006 will the the tipping point for iBiquity - Walsh resigned from iBiquity as CFO, shortly after this article was written. Another key player, resigned right after Walsh ! With HD radios not seling, iBiquity is doomed !

This reminds me of the anti CD arguments I used to read in magazines like Absolute Sound. Typical question & answer. What don't you like about CD technology. Answer; It's not musical. This is the same of nonsense. From what I've actually heard IBOC as it exists today is far superior to its competition. Ibiquity Digital has hired Kitsa Lee as broadcast business manager. Lee most recently was operations director at Research Director Inc., a media consulting firm in Annapolis, Md. She also has been programming research manager at NPR. Lee began her radio career at Arbitron. Lee replaces Stephen Wallace, who has left the company. She reports to VP of Business Development Scott Stull.


"Walsh Leaves Ibiquity, Is Named Emmis CFO"

Patrick Walsh is leaving his chief financial officer position at Ibiquity Digital to take a similar position at Emmis. The 39-year-old had also been a senior vice president at Ibiquity, which he joined in 2002. He starts at Emmis Sept. 5. Also, Emmis has promoted David Newcomer from vice president of finance and assistant secretary to senior vice president of finance and assistant secretary.

Only to hicks. Most peple don't buy radios from Amazon and people don't base their purchases on the opinion of someone who has an obvious heavy handed bias. If you live in a more urban area you go into a store and but things like radios and TV's. Amazon is good for books, CD's (because stores don't stock product like they used to) and that's about it. Only the hicks have to use places like Amazon because they don't have large stores to make their purchases from.

Judging by the tone and content of this and your other posts on this board, it seems anyone outside Manhatten is a hick and therefore not entitled to radio service.

Absolutely untrue - many people purchase electronics off Amazon. Why do you think the HD Radio folks have been hyping Amazon.com/hdradio so much. And, no one shops at RS anymore, where the next big joke of the HD Radio is taking place - people shop at Best Buy and Circuit City.

There's a big difference between being "pro-IBOC" and being sponsored by iBiquity.
