HD Radio confirmed in Microsoft ZuneHD

^^ Here are 3 of the major culprits now! Within 12 hours even!! What a surprise!

Thank you for including me in that fine company. How well does HD come in in the basement anyway? Oh, I see you put that ultra-fringe Yagi and LW up on Mom's roof.

"I wish that iPods had AM/FM tuners by default. Just so the kids actually listen to the radio once in a while"

Uh are you kidding me? Radio's are everyplace today.. it's not the device.. Fix what's heard on the device..
not the device it self..

So, let me understand: just because some of us happen to think that the HD radio system is a piece of crap, particularly from a technical standpoint, but also from a business standpoint, we are "not professional". Is that so?

Let me tell you: if HD radio really delivered the goods, we would be behind it 100%. And even then, it would still be an uphill sell, because as others have pointed out, it is hard to get the public to replace something that ain't broken! Unfortunately, HD radio doesn't work well at all, and it fouls up the band. Especially on AM.

I am by no means an analog "tree-hugger", but I have to admit that I'm starting to wonder whether digital radio is really the right answer for reaching listeners that are mobile. I'm getting pretty tired of digital TV pictures that freeze constantly. Those TV's aren't even moving (and they're also connected to GOOD outdoor antennas with good quality low noise/high intercept preamps). Analog FM has a lot going for it-- it's pretty robust unless you're driving in the mountains.

Digital transmission in general has a ways to go to equal the reliability of analog.
