HD Radio Electronic Program Guide

Great!
Texting while driving isn't bad enough, we need more.
Expect your cost for car insurance to spike upward.

I don't understand. Does this mean that existing HD car radios will be obsolete and new radios with more extensive display screens will be necessary? If the plan is to have a constantly-scrolling line of station and format listings, it's an unbelievably dumb idea. Nobody will stare through pages and pages of listings and possibly plow into that truck carrying gas pipe stopped in front of you at the intersection.

Maybe it will be an audio EPG, with a NOAA-style synthesized voice reading the information to you?

Huh??

People already have an EPG system they like: the SEEK and SCAN buttons. As in the station-search device used in good old analog radio. They punch the buttons until they hear something they like. ::)

I have to agree with you here - I don't know what problem they're trying to solve. It might have made sense in the days of network radio, when you wanted to know when Jack Benny was on...

Pretty much all the HD-2 channels I listen to usually have the PAD data...I don't really need much else. Artist and song title are just fine. I can find weather, news, stocks, et al. on other mediums than trying to view them on a 1X3 blue screen.
