HD Radio for WDCG, WKSL?

Now that WDCG "G-105" and WKSL "93.9 Kiss FM" have completed their respective moves from Terrel's Mountain to Apex site, when will they begin broadcasting their HD signals?

I have a question to add to this one: When will 106.1 the rooster/chicken/hen launch their HD-2 channel, and what format will it take on? The only one of the four CC-R stations whose HD-2 channel is online right now is 100.7 the river... ???

106.1 has a CP and a pending application to modify the CP to move closer to (just North of) Raleigh and downgrade to C-1. I'd bet they won't worry much about HD until after the move.

If I remember correctly, WRDU, which is changing their city of license to Knightdale, was attempting to move to the WCPE tower, but wasn't able to do so for some reason or another and is moving to the WRAL analog tower in Auburn. At any rate, I'm not anticipating any HD signal on 106.1 any time soon.

??? My question is, most of these stations struggle to have any listerners now, What does HD radio have to do with it? I don't know anyone that actually owns a HD radio..Sorta like when CD's came out.. Hell, we never had a CD player, but we sure did promo it..From the ....CD and nobody knew the difference, unless you were Clark Kent.. HD will go the way of AM Stereo..Nowhere! BIG APE!

WDCG-G105 is now online with their HD signal. As I type this (1:40 a.m., WKSL 939 Kiss FM is off the air, so they may be preparing to sign on with their HD signal as well. As is the case with most Raleigh-Durham HD broadcasters WDCG doesn't appear to have a sub-channel, only the main HD-1.

question: once the analog WLFL goes off the air will there be any changes to the tower ? what will happen to the current tv antenna? and will WKSL or WDCG's antennas going any higher up? just wondering if that could be a possibility

points west and north of the Triangle are suffering :(

-oh well, thanks a lot HD radio

well......it has helped a little bit...both signals are MUCH stronger in roanoke rapids and rocky mount now...

I just wish FM's would stop advertising it as "High Definition"..when Iboc HD FM actually stands for "Hybrid Digital"...

I know the town of Cary has their repeater on the WLFL tower and got tons of interference from WDCG when the transmitter was fired on..and had to do some back and fourth switching from the chatham county tower to the new one......after some tracing on DCG's side, nothing was wrong and their stuff was in compliance...there was a bad coax connecter on the repeater antenna...causing RF to come back in their side...whoops

As someone who grew up in the Triad listening to both WDCG and WZZU back in the 80's, I have fond memories of both stations. I am curious how their two signals have changed since their moving just south of Raleigh recently. I have yet to drive out that way to note it since they have moved. Overall, how have the two signals changed for each station for the surrounding areas? I would imagine the west towards Greensboro has taken a big hit, but wanted to hear form some of the locals that have experienced the changes to see. Thanks....

Opposite direction of what you were looking for but still a coverage report... I live in Greenville and have a somewhat decent signal from 93.9 all day now. There didn't really used to be anything on that frequency around here, just static.

105.1 comes in Kinston and Goldsboro very well, but we can't get it because of an LPFM on 105.1 just east of Greenville.
