"HD Radio" = "Hot Dog"

"What Is HD Radio?"

"Nearly 80 years later, another great radio marketing gimmick is also misleading the public -- HD Radio -- and it might just become the most successful radio format in history. What does the "HD" in HD Radio stand for? The assumption, of course, is that it stands for "high definition," an acronym that has become ubiquitous in the electronics industry."

"HD Radio" = "Harmonic Distortion" + "Highly Destructive" :D

Gee you missed this part of the article...

"Don't get me wrong. I am not attacking anybody here … I think it's brilliant marketing."

You read what you want to read.

I have to agree. At NAB, the term "HD" was everywhere. Of course, they were talking about television....

Hybrid Digital????

From a tech standpoint it makes sense (and definately via FM, extra points if an IBAC-broadcasting FM also has SCA channels............)

But then again, what does "Häagen Dazs" mean?

(If Ibiquity really wants to make its product a success they will strike a deal with them to implement a "live on-demand frozen confections chipset." Ice Cream over the air is DEFINATELY a value add as far as I am concerned!!)

Mmmmmmm.....HD Radio..........Tune in to your favourite station, sample the flavour of the week. Rocky Road or French Vanilla, anybody?? ;D

(I think I need to lay off watching "Star Trek" for a while........)
