HD radio in Mobile

I did a search and it's been over a year since I posted a related topic. Wow.

I was just wondering about the state of HD radio in Mobile. I know all the Clear Channel stations are running HD, but the others don't appear to be. Also, the HD signals simply suck in Pensacola. If you're parked in a good spot, they're great, but they're completely unlistenable in a moving car. You can't even carry a signal all the way across one of the 3+ mile long bridges, with no line of site interference. Since the towers are half way between Mobile and Pensacola, I was wondering what the reception is like over there? Is it possible that Clear Channel is running HD at low power for some reason?

I thought all HD signals are just 10% of the analog power.
But, I've been wrong MANY times before...

No I think you're right, roamer - just imagine if all the stations in the Mobile/Pensacola market were running 10% of their normal power and how tough they'd be to get west of Mobile or east of Pensacola... That's what it's like with HD, I imagine.

My guess would be the HD is solid over all of Baldwin County (yawn) but beyond that it gets... Um... Kinda useless.
