HD Radio - just curious

How many people on this board have an HD radio?
Is it portable? or in your car?

I dont. I dont have any plans to buy one either. (At least not yet)

Everyone except you, but some of us are in denial ;D

You can always tell the HD Radio owners. They wear bags over their heads.

Something about "it helps block the hissing noise." :D

I own one, but it's mainly for the DX opportunities (it's a very selective receiver)....the HD itself and the few subchannels are for when there's no DX.

It's really amazing how many subchannels simply go off the air for periods of time, or the HD breaks down....and it's like the proverbial tree falling in the forest....

I have the little Insignia portable and the Sangean tuner. Both work well. Bought them just because I was curious.

I have personally informed a number of stations, "are you aware that such and such has been scrod up for more than a week?", and it gets fixed with immediacy. XtraHD has aired the wrong programs, stopped them, and switched to the scheduled ones in mid show with moi on the phone with them.

I also have one. It's a "Mighty Red HD) Radio" It was a special edition made for Eric Rhodes, President of Radio Inc. Magazine. It's 3-1/4 H X 2-1/4" W X 1/2" D with impressive sound for the size. I don't use it as much but it parks in my breifcase for those times when I feel like tunin' in. :)

We are disapointed that the group broadcasters have chosen to restrict the audio quality of their HD-1's to match their analogue audio; we are confident they wil eventuallyl correct this oversight.
