"HD Radio - My Tests"

Strange take in this article... A quote...

"The BIG Test – WKTI on I43 North ... <SNIP> Digital came in fine, until I got to Sheboygan..."

Author apparently thought HD was designed to extend range.
WKTI is a class "B" which has a service area out to 54 db as listed in this fcc map.

http://www.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/FMTV-service-area?x=FM418791.html

Note Sheboygan outside of the circle on the map. "It ain't supposed to reach there."
So the criticism is actually an endorsement of sorts.

Author also says about AMHD...

"At first, I was pretty impressed by the audio. Then, I turned it up a little bit, and it reminded me of XM radio."

Yeah XM fidelity on AM would suck. Probably sounds better the way it is now.
Of all the reasons NOT to like AMHD "Sounds like XM" is probably the wackiest.
