HD Radio numbers

Those "estimates" are worth exactly as much as you paid for them. I compared their "estimates" with the server logs for several sites I administer, and they weren't even in the right ballpark.

And... add to that the fact that the other sites deliver content in different levels, while the iBiquity site is purely informational and not really more than a one-time-in-the -consumer's-life reference.

Pandora is a pure web play. XM / Sirius has mixed satellite and web content delivery. Clear Channel is a radio company with some content delivered via streaming, but they promote iHeartRadio as a smart phone app, which will not be measured by this service.

I'm, unfortunately, sure that even mentioning this will cause the original poster to again hack my website and post spam and filth.

Ya, I agree the information provided for free was a real shot in the dark. Even their website says estimate.

As an observer and fan of technology I'd sure like to read how HD radios are flying off the shelves at retailers all across America. Unless you know different, the last I checked sales of HD radios are flat. As a user and owner of an HD radio, I'm thus far disappointed with the programming choices and lack of innovation from broadcasters. It's mostly more of the same. MY G8 is used every day, while my insignia collects dust. The G8 sounds great in AM or FM...

And this from http://audio4cast.com. "Pandora’s the one to beat. So says Jacobs Media’s new Tech Survey of 26,000 rock radio listeners in the US. According to Fred Jacobs, President of Jacobs Media, Pandora is “a threat to terrestrial radio.”

Honestly, I wish I could replace Pandora in this article with HD radio. I'm sure you want the same thing too! But given the opportunity, the HD giddy-up crowd will continue to have smart answers from the play book of over researched nothings..

America is listening to digital radio, but from their computers and smart phones.

So how much longer can we wait for listeners to adopt HD radio and for broadcasters to finally offer something actually worth listening for? What another 10 years! Where are those early adopters that satellite radio was able to garnish.

I know this, In another 10 years, smart phone stuff and alike gadgets will be running twice as hard..
And cheap wireless/internet access will be everyplace! Just ask Julius Genachowski, he's the man with a socialist plan.

In the meantime, I'll continue to read the Hype and hopes from the giddy-up crowd, all the while being disappointed with our industry and HD radio. Emerge from your cocoon little HD one, it's finally time to become a beautiful butterfly...You can't hide forever.

So NOW, based on THIS, you ask a question?

Is this MSNBC?

Seriously...

Even if a guy doesn't care for IBUZ, their site hits aren't a very good indicator of radio sales or intrest in the technology. I'm sure vendor sites get many more hits than Intel gets themselves when it comes to computers. How many chips has Intel sold? Apples and oranges dude....
