HD Radio on WMHK?

I understand that 89.7 WMHK is planning to start two HD radio stations and have not been able to find out anything about it on either their website or their parent web site from Columbia International University. KNowing that they are really behind in their budget, I was surprised to hear that they were thinking of this and wondered if this was even true.

One of the trades did a feature on their Charlotte station and its conversion to HD.

I was asked in an interview about HD. The broadcaster had it as a high priority. They didn't seem to be impressed by my answer that it would be the listening public that would decide whether HD is of value, rather than the other way around. It didn't make sense to me to spend $100,000+ to do the HD installation and broadcast to 3 people.
