HD Radio tuner module for McIntosh amplifiers

If you have a McIntosh integrated amplifier, there's now an HD Radio tuner module available to convert it to an HD Receiver http://www.hdradio.com/buyers_guide...e=any&brand=any&pull=92#BuyersGuideController

It's an option to be used primarily by people who have custom-installers install their systems, although it should be simple enough for an average audio geek to hook up. Damn McIntosh components are as sexy as a naked lady...and a whole lot less trouble! Of course at my age, I'd probably break or strain something trying to bick one of 'em up!

Yeah, I'm going to pay 800.00 for an iBOC tuner, bet it's big seller ;D, you can put any name on it you like, it's still IBOC.
What's that saying? You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear?

I'll volunteer, Mike - as long as I can just skip the $800 HD tuner part and go straight to the naked lady. ;)

Isn't that rather sacriligious hooking up an IBOC tuner to a McIntosh? Like showing up at Buckingham Palace in a Yugo?

It's been a while comming, we've all had plenty to say, but I think we've finally found something most of us in the group can agree on. The naked lady.

Well I'm going for the Mac! I've had naked ladies in my house, but never any McIntosh gear. THAT I have only admired, sighed, then (sadly, slowly) walked away!

Years ago I had an MC-30 mono 30 watt tube power amp along with the original mono preamp. I plugged a SS Advent 400 FM tuner into it and it had the best sounding audio I've ever heard, you didn't even miss it not being stereo the sound was so lush, it seemed to drip out of the speakers.

I've had both. The naked ladies were a lot better.... :D

WAIT A MINUTE!! The MacIntosh in your house got up and walked away???

What did you do to it?

Did you try to install an HD Radio tuner in it or something?? :D

KB10KL that old Advent tuner was a marvel. It's cousin is the tuners in the Tivoli Audio radios...also designed by the late Henry Kloss. I love my Tivoli PAL.

Justitia, the half-naked lady shown in this photo, has been "weighing" the pros and cons of IBOC for the past few years, but she's not happy about its impact on the AM band -- or the proposed 10 dB FM power increase. She recently removed her blindfold and grabbed a sword, so watch out!

Bob Savage should recognize her from his days in law school:
