Telvisa-Univision has realized they can make a little bit of money by leasing out HD stations for the Houston translators.
The entire primary contour of any translators rebroadcasting HD subchannels of KQBU would have to fall within the primary contour of the 93.3 signal, AIUI. The western edge of the KQBU primary just reaches downtown Houston. Translators broadcasting from downtown would have signals that extend well to the west, so I don’t see how that would be legal (yes, I know “this is Houston.”)

I still have a strong feeling that something is up with KQBU. There is no reason to add HD to a rimshot spoken word format unless changes are on the way.

TUDN has national spots it needs to clear, and 93.3 serves that purpose i don't see any changes happening soon. It has no numbers or sales but as added value it serves its purpose and helps for sure.

Curious why HD is being added to KQBU after all these years without it.

Unless some sort of change is on the way?🤔😉
At this tower site, we have two old fm transmitters, one of them had serious issues. after the tower accident, we moved one of the HD transmitters we had there to replace, being solid state , reliable, it was good move. The HD was just part of it, just use it, there is no plans or any change i hear of or have any part of it.
the tower site is far, difficult area to get to and its always after a severe storm, the road is unpaved, just mud from the highway to the tower site.

Hope that wasn't an original transmitter from the KYKR move-in in 1990...?

By that I assume one of the KLTN transmitters from the Ennis site was moved to Devers? That would make sense. From the pictures I saw of the accident the transmitter building itself was mostly undamaged.

Probably, i wasnt there in 1992 when Tichenor purchased 93.3, these HT-35 transmitters are from 1996 and 98, replaced one with a NV40

Conroe. I get a decent analog signal of KAMA but HD is difficult. I still easily get the common weak tropos KKYS or KVIC on 104.7 and KYKS or KMAT on 105.1
It depends where in Conroe and how high your antenna is above your home, this image is 60/70 db coverage plot of KAMA. An antenna on a 30 foot pole will be best to use. Them pine trees dont help either. Maybe a 50 -100 foot pole lol is better. Signal really drops near water, since it the lowest terrain.

KAMA 104.9

Well i found KAMA HD levels very low on the exciter, set them where they should be. Let me know how KAMA HD is in your area. thx

I think maybe slightly stronger? Seems very similar

Edit: I found a spot where it comes in really strong but if I move it a few inches it can drop to weak then lose it

it should be Sports PTY
But speaking of PTYs KAMA still doesn’t have one. And KOVE hasn’t fixed the PTYs from when it first came on. The HD3 La Nueva is Sports and HD4 TUDN is Spanish Music. Also when I tuned to HD4 the text showed KLTN-FM for a bit before going to TUDN Radio.
