HD Radio

Does anyone know if there are any HD radio stations in Iowa? If so, please let me know....

Also, I have a few suggestions for radio stations in the QC:

///STATION//////////CURRENTLY//////////HD SUGGESTION///

---CUMULUS---
93.5 KQCS Hot AC Soft AC
104.9 KBOB Country Classic Country

---CLEAR CHANNEL---
96.1 KMXG Hot AC Disco/Classic Dance
101.3 KUUL mid '60s-'70s Oldies '50s/early '60s Oldies
Adult Standards (and new 'Croonerville' home)
Adult Contemporary
103.7 WLLR Top 40 Country Classic Country
106.5 KCQQ '70s-'80s Classic Hits "Live" Classic Hits

KZIA is currently broadcasting on HD1, HD2, and HD3.

Really? Well then, what formats air on the three KZIA channels?

Also, I would like to add a QC suggestion: If KMXG had to HD sub-channel, it could air music from the 1980s and air Backtrax USA on that channel

Buy an HD radio and you can find out! ;) It'll be worth it!

Oh sure, take away the hot AC stations. How could you be so cruel? Hot AC in my opinion, is the best format on radio these days. Oh and KMXG isn't hot AC - it's soft AC. Please get your formats right before posting. The old stuff SUCKS! BTW, you can get updates of HD radio stations at hdradio.com.

How about one of the CR-IC stations dedicates an HD subchannel to a talk station focusing specifically on the ongoing controversy on this board surrounding Steve, Gabby, and KCJJ generally? Talk about super-serving the Radio-Info demographic! ;D

From HDRadio.com KZIA is playing Classic Rock on KZIA-HD2 and Sports on KZIA-HD3

What amazes me is this very trickle approach to HD. I realize it is a very high capital investment for a year, especially for small markets, but why do one or two stations at a time? Seems to me like the best approach to every market is like what the big companies did in the big markets, and that is everyone team up to put HD on at the same time. That way there is at least some reason for consumers to buy the receivers instead of just listening to the one or two stations in the market.

But more important to that, is radio should be focusing more on putting a better product on what they already have, instead of rushing to put more bland automated programming on more frequencies...

Two stations in comparison....

OK, let's compare the Quad Cities' Q106 with Z102.9's classic rock subchannel....How hard is the rock? Does the Z designate a time to air live music recorded from the stage like the Q does? And how far the timeline does the Z go?
