HD is bogus...weak signal after just a few miles..cuts in and out under power lines...not to mention the lack of compelling programming. xm/sirius is the way to go...solid, digital sound with an amazing array of channel choices and coverage from cayman islands to alaska!
Someone had mentioned they found a JVC with EQ and other goodies as well. My arsenal unit also came with those and as well as differnt face lighting and a detachable face plate.
The main reason I got it was not just for HD but to have a WIDE varriety of formats to choose from. I go into areas to listen to potential station to talk to about syndicating my shows. Many web site do not have current info on what the HD formats are. (My pamphlet from the HD Alliance I got at Joseph's was sooooo out of date it still showed KLUV HD-2 still having an ALL BEATLES FORMAT!)
I want to be able to see the whole picture of what the market is carrying so I know who to talk to that would be interested.
The XM is nice to have a wider amount of channels as well. Great when I'm in the middle of Freakin nowhere! With the phone in the AUX jack I can listen to stations over my android ph from anywhere in the world. (I also monitor a station in San Antonio to hear of of our shows there as well.) I tend to gravitate to LBC talk radio in London while driving. It sounds like it is here in town!
I also have it setup to use the car battery so I don't drain the phone one.
Its great all aound and I love it and the fantastic service I've gotten from Crutchfield as well. I can assure you I will be contributing to their stimulus package ! ;D
Why is everyone saying that the Ticket is not on 99.5-2? I'm listening to it right now, granted it's in my office. Sometimes it's difficult to keep the station tuned in, but when it does, it's the best frequency they have. I personally think Cumulus should shut down 1700 AM and 104.1 FM and let the Ticket take over 93.3 FM. If only they would listen to the listeners, that's all we want is to be able to listen without interruption. They are a ratings winner with untold revenue coming in, but won't give the listener a good format to hear it. I know they're thinking, "why change it if we still get ratings", but it's a slap in the face to us in Dallas, particularly the suburbs.
