HD Radio

I got a portable HD radio for Christmas and haven't had too much sucess finding any RI/Southeastern MA area stations with any HD stations...other than Coast 93 with their jazz station. Have stations cut back and eliminated these "stations between the stations"? I believe that B101 had a comedy station, but I don't see it there anymore.

B101 replaced the comedy with classic rock a while back, it's there, I just checked it. HJY has alternative on their HD2.

Here's what I heard on F.M. today:
93.3-1, 94.1-1, 101.5-1: simulcasting the analog signals.

93.3-2: Smooth Jazz
94.1-2: Alternative rock
101.5-2: Classic rock

Thanks! For some reason, my radio doesn't pick either of them up...couldn't tell you why.

because sometimes there not on but HD can be hard to get it's like HD TV OTA can be very hard to pick up need a good hd radio antanna

the only thing i wonder why is why did WWLI take 105 off of HD radioI know they experimented with HD on the 105.1 but I think they should bring it back it seems to me alot of radio stations hop on HD but do not do enough to get it going or popular
if HD is all that great radio should do more to make it popular. I love HD radio as some radio's have a tagging feature for the I pods and I phone. the radio stations also need to fight the FCC for more power as well HD if used correctly on FM onlly it could work well. if there is any radio engineers out there that know of any issues with radio HD i love to know and any one know why radio hd has not taken off I like that info as well

It's a nice idea, but IBOC just doesn't cut it. The coverage is less than adequate and the interference caused by IBOC doesn't help matters much. It would have been better if the FCC approved FMeXtra as THE system for digital audio broadcasting. Using the SCA spectrum for FMeXtra would have provided coverage similar to that of FM Stereo and would not step on the adjacent channels. But, such is life. So, HD is just really not cutting it.

Citadel Providence has shut off HD on all three of the FM's that were running it, WPRO-FM, WWLI, and WWKX. They never ran subchannels, just the HD main channel.
