HD STATION SWITCHED TO IHEARTMUSIC :<

 Recently I have noticed that one of my favorate stations 99.7 hd2 the vinal vinyard classic rock located in kannapolius NC, is no longer in service. It was replaced with Iheartmusic big classic hits (CRAP) .The whole reason for purchising the hd radio was to listen to this 99.7 hd2 vinal vinyard. .This is not good and will be selling my portable device if it is not relisted and this continues.I have contacted the station aswell as a unsatisfied consumer/customer of hd radio

Hi Mike, Sadly there's nothing I can do to help you with that. it was a 'corporate" decision to drop The Vinyl Vineyard from our choices for the HD side channels. We can only broadcast what they offer and the best alternative we could find to fill the channel was the Classic Hits. We not happy about it either and wish I had better news for you.

;<(Just a rant)and yes there are no other classic rock stations in hd2 that can be picked up in nc.this sucs

I've heard the change and kinda like it. I wonder if this is an attempt at a national format? I was surprised to hear some voice tracks. It makes it sound more live than the usual HD2 fare.

Iheartradio's 99.7(big classic hits) hd-2. It sucks and is the same lame commercialized radio always heard.I mean we hear the same songs played on regular analog radio .The vinal vinyard was different it had viriety of classic rock not heard often but so much for that "It was a corporate decissions" thats crap. I mean why couldn't they just add it as a additional hd3 channel/station.Iguess that would make sense.

Unfortunately, in this corporate environment, the people at the local station have to follow the corporate edicts, or lose their employment. It's sad, but true.

This may sound like a stretch but the more I think about it, the more I agree. A friend said that radio keeps trying to reinvent itself, but doesn't have new music to use as American mainstream music is dead. It is sort of like having a fast quad core computer, but only having old low bit Windows 3.1 compatible software to play on that computer. The PC industry would die under those circumstances and that is what is happening to radio... There is nothing new on it, just different presentations/format changes of the same old music over and over.
