What keeps the Master Blogger employed at KT'R? Once again he's changed the station's slogan from "It Just Sounds Better" to "Arizona's #1 News & Talk Station". Both fabrications. The Mac&Cheese show was guest hosted Monday afternoon by Jeff Mund who pined for the days of "civilized (read Toaster Talk) radio". The Master Blogger has Joe Crummey on the payroll, but won't use him as a fill-in host for fear of being called a hypocrite as the Evil One broadcasts from El Lay. Hmmmm....who created that problem? KT'R moved to FM so 6~Twenty could be used as a Sports Parking Lot, but that was another fabrication. One day last week Gaydos rolled from 7 to 8, 7 to 8, 7 to 8, to make way for a game that couldn't run on Sports Parking Lot 6~Twenty. And try making any sense out of Phil Hendrie's first hour - last week it was Rusty Humphries, last night a repeat of Hendrie's show after Obama swept the Potomac primaries. At least he's given us Traffic & Weather every 15 minutes on Saturday night. Nurse Jeff and I can't figure the Master Blogger out....he must have pictures!

Speaking of "Arizona's Number One News and Talk Station" have they changed the female image voice? It sounds different. Not any better, just different. It still sounds like they ran into the news room and grabbed the first female they could find.

I'm sure he's still running ktar for the same reason your running the board, it's the new and inventive ideas you both come up with.

Really is KTAR FM that bad? Really, think about it for a minute. I would perfer listening to Ankarlo, Mac, or Gaydos than the canned syndicated republican fare which is rush and hannity. Oh and how old is Barry's silly show? Yeah, talk for a new generation, I don't think so.

Hey, no casting aspersions on El Rushbo being "canned" (not live). At least
not until March 9, when Dudeboss will once again be totally baffled by the
onset of daylight saving time. Maybe he'll think C2CUFOs live will begin at 12
(instead of 10) and attempt a "reverse delay." Wait, isn't that what the
Master Blogger does now with Hendrie?

But if you want a lib "rush" (lower case), there's always the Big 1480...that is
if you can get the Big 1480.

First of all, Rush and Hannity are live (albetit only until DST returns) while KTAR leads the planet in canned shows, with Glenn Beck on an astounding 5 hour tape delay and the first hour of Phil Hendrie is on a 21 hour delay.

Aunt Carlos is toaster talk with an occasional flare for something of substance. Mac isn't much better--especially with all the clutter on his show. There's nothing worse than trying to discuss an issue and being interrupted by continual traffic, news, spots every few seconds. GAYdos is just awful, small market, shtick heavy radio where the host beats you over the head with timechecks, platitudes, self congratulatory vignettes and really just a bunch of talk about nothing. Sorry, I'll take the Barely Famous McCain fanboy fest over that any day.

KT'R's "live and local" programming is cool, although the old, stale Glenn Beck thing in midday is pretty wierd.

I like Ankarlo, and I think he's catching on in Phoenix.

But this is kinda funny: Tim and Willy "filled-in" (gee that experiment worked really great now didn't it?) for Mac a few weeks ago and got tons of press attention. Austin Hill filled-in last week and earlier this week for Ankarlo, and got "Good Morning Arizona" tv cams in studio at KT'R to talk with him about a book he wrote about Presidents on President's day (it was actually very funny, Hill and Scott Pasmore yuckin' it up).

The fill-in hosts (Hill, T& W) get more attention outside KT'R than Ankarlo, and waaay more than Mr. Mac. What's wrong with this picture?

Sounds like a PD who's just throwing stuff against the wall to see what sticks. Nothing like
(in)consistency to build ratings. IMHO, Ann and Carlos, Mac n' cheese, Gaydos are second rate vs. KFYI's talk stars. So what if Rush and Hannity are syndicated? Better talk shows.
