And by gadfry, they were some good 'uns. If I had to pick one song as the most perfect pop song of all time, it would be "You Can't Hurry Love" as done by the Supremes. Holland-Dozier-Holland's construction of the song and production values were immaculate.

I always thought it was a form of genius the way he and his partners wrote the also-perfect "I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch)" and then, under severe time pressure to come up with a song just as catchy, tweaked it into "It's the Same Old Song" in about half an hour.
