Heat Wave bringing in Hot DX!

From near Dayton, OH..awesome all day but especially last nioght.

Yesterday morning

new 101.9 WKLU, Brownsburg, IN

Yesterday afternoon

102.5 wbzw Hudson, Mi

The really good stuff was last night.

107.3 WCTT-FM Corbin, KY, "T107.3" Full quieting
104.3 WEZJ, Williamstown, KY. Country

97.1 WSEK Somerset, KY. Presuming this is what I heard with AMerican Country Countdown..only local mention was weather with a Kentucky accent, sounded like he said "WSSA" though. Went into After Midnight at 12 but missed the legal ID.

And the highlight, giing me a new state..

93.5 WAXM, Big Stone Gap, VA, clear ID into network news, full quieting

Some UNID's..baseball on 97.3 (saylersville, KY?), 95.1 with country.

This morning the got relogs of WSGS, 101.1, hazard, KY (full quieting), WPAY, Portsmouth, OH and WFIU, Bloomington IN. Til the heat wave passes it should be great!!

The tropo was coming from the east, rather than the south last night, and not quite as exciting but did log a few:

97.3 WKWK, Wheeling WV w/ Delilah
94.3 UNID Mix 94.3 w/ CHR (maybe WDIF, Marion..which tends not to get out this direction).
98.7 UNID K-Love affiliate
100.5 WOMP-FM, Bellaire, OH w/ CHR "WOMP-FM".
107.3 WNWV, Elyria, OH
______________

I logged WAMO and WWSW, from wapak! My first Pittsburg stations.

This would likely be WYKL-Crestline, OH. Crestline is close to Mansfield, and it's inside the area where you seem to have received a lot of stations.

Since Saturday - Bowling Green, MO

90.1 WFYI Indianapolis, IN
93.9 WYSG Fishers, IN
94.9 WMOJ Fairfield/Cincinnatti, OH
95.5 WFMS Indianapolis
97.1 WLHK Shelbyville/Indianapolis (Completely Blocking Out Local KFTK w/Full Quieting). I thought KFTK had changed formats for a few minutes, until I heard an ID for Hank FM, and figured out I had Indianapolis, and began scanning the dal for other DX, which seemed to largely come from around Indianapolis, and Cinncinnatti.
98.5 WACF Paris, IL
100.3 WIFE Connersville, IN (Mixing with local KATZ-FM)
102.7 WEBN Cinncinnatti
104.5 WJJK Noblesville/Indy
107.1 WFKS Midford/Cinncinnatti

A very active few days. WMOJ in Cinncinnatti was crystal clear for nearly two hours here, before the opening closed back up. I was even able to pick it up on my el cheapo clock radio, it was coming in so strong.

Great catches from NE MO.. I never was able to hear anything from Indianapolis or Cincinnati during my brief time living in Quincy, IL and working in Hannibal (KGRC). I never managed to get powerhouse KGRC in Ohio, but with another 92.9 blasting in I can see why. I did get them once in Lafayette, IN.
______________

I did once log Pittsburgh from Coldwater (OH) and once from Indiana. Probably would have last night if I'd have stayed with it longer.

Lawppy..thanks for the Crestline ID..and you need to log that 667th station, fast!
______________

The past 2 days in Ragland, AL:
92.5 WESC Greenville, SC (relog from last week)
98.5 WSB Atlanta, GA (Between two locals, first time clear enough to confirm)
99.3 WCON Cornelia, GA (Alone, I'd have expected WKCN)
100.3 WNOX Knoxville, TN (Why couldn't I ever get it when it was still WOKI? Two mornings in a row, between a semi-local and local that usually splat it)
100.3 WLAY Muscle Shoals, AL (Over WNOX the first day, under it today)
100.9 WALX Selma, AL
105.1 WHEL Helen, GA (briefly under WQSB)

I've also been getting Montgomery TV. Got WAKA-8 both days and WNCF-32 like a local today.

This is in addition to a lot of regular catches from Montgomery, Huntsville, and Atlanta sounding a lot better than they normally do.

I haven't received anything from Pittsburgh either. I REALLY want to though. I have received stations from Erie and Youngstown, and after hearing Saint Louis and Toronto this last weekend, I know Pittsburgh IS possible from here.

I'm trying... :)

It was my first time ever logging Indianapolis here, but 94.9 & 102.7 in Cincy have visited a couple of times this year. This is a great area for DX, as it is on the fringes of pretty much every signal we get (Quincy, St. Louis, Columbia), making it very easy for skip to come in well.

Getting some pretty good DX now as I am typing this. A cool front has moved through and brought the first rain to the area in awhile. Been picking up a lot of stations from Memphis, TN and Paducah, KY this early morning. Also a few from Kansas City that I don't ordinarily get like 97.3 KZPL, 105.1 KCJK (coexisting with WGEM Quincy), and 93.3 KMXV.

And try I did..
88.1- WZIP- Akron, OH- Playing "It's My Life" by No Doubt. Just before 2:00 PM on July 27th.

I'd probably have 668 right now too, except I can't confirm the station with stoneage.yes.com currently being down.
______________
