Heather Moore

No, she was laid off in the BIG LAYOFFS a few months ago. If you search in this forum, you will find a thread about the KTVK layoffs.+

Honestly, they should have dumped Tara Hitchcock from GMAZ and replaced her with Heather.

On another KTVK note, Patti and Beverly desperately need co-anchors. Both of them seem uncomfortable and stumble through their shows. Can't KTVK find another male or female co-anchor for them?

Ain't gonna happen...Patti won't work with a co-anchor and Belo's not about to throw some guy a six-figure salary to stand next to Ms. Kidd. Remember the Mike Chamberlin/Beverly Kidd pairing? That was brought about by someone at Belo who wanted to know why Chambo was getting paid so much for nine minutes of work. His journalistic skills were never questioned.

Larger issue here: there just are not a lot of male anchors who have the right voice and look. Many guys who are any good get out of the broadcast business when they realize it means two years in Lubbock at $16k/year. For some reason, the women stay with it.

Well, Patti's virtually unwatchable for me since because her fumbling and stumbling are too annoying.

As for Beverly, she may be "hot" but is not particularly good at solo anchoring. Tess Rafols, when subbing a few weeks ago, was MUCH better than Beverly -- high energy, looked like she was genuinely enjoying the anchoring duties.

As for Sports Anchors becoming news anchors, what about Mark Curtis? Did he have any previous news credentials?

Does anyone know the status of Heather Moore? Is she on the air in a different market now?

If Heather is still dating Ben Lemoine (who works at KTVK 3) I would think she is still around the valley somewhere. I hope she finds a job on local TV because she is one of my favorites. Heather along with Beverly made a great team and were pretty easy on the eyes... ;)

She was not only easy on the eyes, but also great at presenting the news. Much better than Patti. I do not know why they didn't keep her and get rid of Patti.

I really hope she turns up soon at another local Phoenix station.

I totally agree...I don't watch Channel 3 news at all during the early evening telecast because of Patti Kirkpatrick. She is boring and shows no emotion...probably because she doesn't want to ruin her plastic face! I say give her the boot and hire some fresh new talent.

CH 3 News overall is not worth watching... The women who cannot speak make it worse... and waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much emphasis on the weather... I miss the golden days where weather was mentioned once a half hour, and done accurately... Patti, Tara???? There MUST be some women out there who can make CH 3 better, because they certainly do not.

I have an idea...get rid of Tara, Patti, and Beverly. Re-hire Heather for GMAZ and hire Diana Sullivan to replace Patti and Beverly. Hire a qualified male to co-anchor with Diana and you're done.

I ran into a newscaster from channel 3 and inquired about Heather Moore. Looks like Heather landed a job in San Diego and starts next week. I do not know which one, but will post when I find out.

Congrats Heather!

Sure hope Heather has found a position. Just like others in the past, never quite will know the reasoning behind her departure.

That stinks...I was hoping she would get a job here in the valley. Oh well...good luck Heather, I'll never forget you!

Wow, anchoring the 6pm news. Good Luck Heather!

Does anyone know if KUSI is a 'business-casual' station? I often found it weird watching Moore do the news in her jeans.

I am reasonably certain that a good part of Heather's departure had to do with her relationship with Ben Lemoine. Kind of foolish if you ask me...
