Hedgecock's last day Dec. 27th?

He announced today that December 27th could be his last day.. Still no contract and December 28 and 29th are reserved for the Holiday Bowl. Interesting that Clear Channel San Diego strung it out to the last minute. With Cliff Albert subsidizing a money losing operation like KLSD, they probably need to sacrifice some Roger Money to keep socialist talk radio online.. Interesting

I would really rather we not get into all the KLSD vs. KOGO politics, one is Right, one is Left. Some like one and some like the other. That's fine.

But as for Roger, I would be none too suprised if, some time in late January, you hear this: "The Roger Hedgecock Show, weekdays, ON 760, KFMB!"

That, or somebody at CBS figures out that FreeFM could use a local show or 2... Regardless of who or why, it would for sure be a bad idea of KOGO not to give Roger what he wants. But with the way money is going at Clear-channel, that would not be a suprise either...

I have no idea where my post went or Lopka's post went, but oh well.

Hopefully Clear Channel will come to their senses and sign Hedgecock on for several more years. The loss to CC and KOGO would be tremendous since Hedgecock will not be off the air for long. He will sprout up somewhere else and take a huge audience with him. At this point in time, Hedgecock is the voice of talk radio in San Diego. The only people I know of that could rival him are dead or flipped over to the dark side:

Since Garrett brought up KLSD, I've been listening to Stacy Taylor filling in for the Wicked Witch of the East (for the holidays) on the drive home, and his show is just plain aweful now. It was bad when it started a few years ago, but it's seriously laughable now. The sidekick is especially bad, a complete dork. It's all about juvenile frat-boy humor putting down Republicans aimed at a young (collage aged) audience. Stacy actually refrains from most of the serious mud slinging, but that sidekick of his puts his foot in his mouth on a regular basis. Why in the world Air America decided to put Stacy and Sidekick on nationally is beyond me, it's an embarrassment to acknowledge that they are from San Diego. If Stacy could drop the sidekick, it might be bearable; as it is I can only stand a few minutes of the trash talking sidekick before I get sick of it.

You guys are going to make my head explode I swear!!!!!!!!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

I DID NOT BRING UP KLSD (originally), in fact, I said THAT I DID NOT WANT TO GET INTO ALL THAT.

The original poster inserted it, and I attempted to deflect it.

Forgive me, but what other stations is Stacy on besides KLSD? Who is "the wicked witch" you are referring to? That could be a lot of people (and is also subjective since some people agree with the progressive side of things.)

I heard KLSD this am talking about a Mayor Sanders audio clip from KOGO yikes

lucky guy overturned conviction due to a bailiff problem and then talk show and now he is so critical about goverment peeps time for a change anyway

I believe "the wicked witch of the east" the term which neocons usually reserve for Bill's wife is interchangably used for Randi Rhodes as well. Stacy and Scooter have been filling in for her national program while she's been out and are actually an improvement over Randi's show, but his show is definitely not for the stodgy.

Unless Roger has something else going on, he'll be back on the radio just like Jeff and Jer after they leave a station. Like him or not he still has a sizable dedicated following.

As expected Hedgecock signed a new contract, albeit only one day before the deadline.
