It is my understanding that Ms. West was fired on Monday. I do not know the reason for the firing. She was a VERY fine professional.

It's been my experience that when a decision is made that affects this many people (4 in this case) there's usually one underlying reason. Everything else is a workaround. So is the underlying reason to get Tanya on Lite, Jessica on PRO-FM, or Dee Dee on Hot? I doubt that it was get Heidi out since she was perfect for the format. I've never heard this Dee Dee, but Jessica will probably sound fine on PRO-FM. Tanya is good...period...but between Lite & PRO-FM, she belongs on PRO-FM.

If I had to pick one underlying reason it would be $$$$$$$$$$$$$
This DeeDee is there already I understand doing promotions. Now she can multi-task. She's green and they're not putting her on PRO-FM or LITE. Doesn't matter who does middays on HOT. They're not exactly a contender for "at work" listening. Tony isn't firing Tanya. Jess was only just hired and maybe they saw what a mistake she is on an urban station, albeit probably the only urban station in the country with an all-white staff. So Heidi gets the heave-ho. She's been there 5 years. They save money. Tony Tony Tony has done it again. In actuality Tanya may be better off as LITE. Less prone to format swings with music on CHR radio changing every few years, not that PRO-FM has ever changed the staff to keep up with the changes.

i still say if joannie still wanted to work in radio and was willing to work for less coin it would be the perfect move for lite as she has the name reconition lite the same case when they hired david jones now IF they were smart.... thats the move they sould go with in my opinion

Joannie and David are like oil and water. They don't get along at all! After Jones was let go Joannie was very vocal about what a pain in the ass Jones was to work with. Jones' numbers are fine, there's no reason to bring in someone to be with him, it's fine the way it is. And Joannie would demand the same $125k plus she was making at Clear Channel. It's not going to happen.
according to pro fms and lites websites thats exactly whats going on... seemed like an easy fix.....gtdradio said:

Four years later David was the first person I called when Chuck and I were fired in November - I felt that it was the end of something we had built together for many, many years. Shortly after David we e-mailed Mike Sheridan, because working with him as part of that original group had just been so great-
It is clear listening to LITE that David now has another lovely friend and partner in Heather, and for that matter Chuck and I both had a wonderful experience working with Brian and Jess.
I had a great run and it was a twenty one years full of solid friendships and lots of laughs. I met a fabulous husband on the job and got to go home and play with my kids for the first eight and ten years of their lives. Life's been good, and here comes a new chapter.
Carry on if you must with your mean spirited comments RADIO-INFO. But couldn't you at least have the guts to sign your names? Or at least do a better job researching my salary?

I really feel like I have to address this post because you are just so wrong. David is a great guy and has been a wonderful friend to me most of my adult life. I sat a foot away from him for 17 years working on a joint project four hours a day. The other teams and partners out there know what kind of dedication that takes, and just how close you become. There are few people on that planet who know each other better than Jones and Joan.
