Hello - Bonjour ! :)

Hello Beautiful Radio Community!
I'm Denis and I'm French.
Working in radio since 1985 (I was 16).
First as radio DJ in France (that's in Western Europe), then the Group I was with sent me to work in the startup team to launch a commercial radio in communist Russia in 1990 (still exists... and still #1!)
Then I held different PD positions in France, while helping the group build stations around the world.
In 1999-2000, I was Deputy GM, in Charge of Programs, for our radios in Mainland China (3 brands),
then I came to Romania (that's in Eastern Europe) to start Europa FM network, and then I opened my consultant firm.
A break in 2008-2009 when I took the group program management of a radio/MusicTV group in Romania,
then back to consulting since then.
Then I started investing and became partner in some TV and Radio stations.
That's pretty much it. I'm 56 now (2025).
And I'm extremely happy I found that website! :)
Thank you for reading til here - and apologies for my poor English :)

Welcome. I certainly am happy to see someone with so much experience join. I have been in radio since 1978 but my list pales compard to your experiences. I hope you will share some stories about your radio adventures and offer your opinion on the various subjects you will find here.

You are very kind. You know, I met some genius radio guys from improbable African countries, with zero "radio industry knowledge" but a huge intuition. And then some overpaid guys in Public Networks in Europe, who had the title, the office, the prestige, but who really had no clue about audience, targets, programming, or whatever makes our job so much fun. So... I know for sure that we all can learn from each others :) and I can't wait to read your 1978 stories ! Thank you for welcoming me here so kindly.

Bonjour Denis et bienvenue!

Don't worry about your English ... it's better than my French (though I'm working on it)!

What a vast range of experience. I'm sure you'll have some very interesting stories to tell.
