Hello from Hartford (and formerly NYC)

Hi - I found this forum when searching for some station details from the 70s and 80s. DH was with WTIC AM 1080 (Hartford) in the late early 80s. I was at WCCC FM (also Hartford) in 1998-9 as a production intern, working for Angie - really fun and great to work for. We both grew up in Greater Hartford listening to the incredible independent stations in that later heyday of radio and miss it..

I had the fortune (or misfortune, depending on how you look at it) to later work in NYC in music royalties for one of the mega entertainment companies. I worked a ton but had the occasional break to listen to NYC AM (1010 WINS!) and some FM, mornings (Stern vs. Imus) and weekends. I must confess I’m pretty much listening now to NPR, WTIC AM traffic and weather, our old albums, and streaming.

I’m sad my college-age kids have never enjoyed the intensity of listening to an entire album track after track, and single A sides and Bs. Or even radio personalities (pretty much gone) and being introduced to different artists & deep cuts that aren’t curated as singles for them.

So happy to walk a little down memory lane with you.
