Hello??

You bring up an interesting point. I don't think it has one thing to do with this forum and everything to do with the state of Kentucky radio. No station is doing anything worth discussing here. Not one thing to get excited about. Louisville/Lexington radio is stale and boring. Think of a station that is creating magical radio with larger than life LOCAL personalities with local winners and local interaction. Think of a station that is playing a normal amount of commercials per hour (maybe a few). Think of a monster local morning show that's good enough to move to a bigger market (most all morning shows here now are syndicated). Can you name a station that plays great music and keeps it fresh? I don't know very many people that don't have a Sirius/XM subscription (myself included) and/or listen to their own playlists on their smartphone. Shame on these Big Broke Investment firms that cut and cut and cut and forced our community radio stations quality to be substandard at best. You can tell by tuning in other stations that the companies that own them are not paying a living wage as the dj's mostly sound like they still live at home with their parents. I strongly believe this can all be reversed. It's not too late.......yet. That's my theory as to why this forum struggles here but does well in other markets and states.

Fair points. With the small market nature of Lexington radio, not much exciting happens here. I mean, you've got iHateRadio, Cumeless and LM (which I'm surprised still exists at this point) and that's it. You know the first two aren't going to do anything drastic or exciting here as they're both dealing with bankruptcy and LM's products are all stale too, but at least they've got live and local talent. I still enjoy listening to some of the semi-locals and rimshots like 100.7, 103.7, 104.9 and 105.9. Word on the street is 106.7 is getting a significant power increase and should cover about the same area as 100.7 when all is said and done. That'll be nice. And HEY! WEKU finally has RDS! Meanwhile, WUKY has lost theirs for the time being. What's up with that??

I check here almost every day. I agree that no station is doing anything worth discussing.I used to post the Louisville ratings but stopped because hardly anyone would comment.I can't blame them. It's always the same thing. 93.1,100.5,and 105.1 continue to have bad ratings but nothing ever changes except they all changed their name.Boring!
If I remember correctly the last format change was about a year ago when 102.3 changed to JACK-FM.

I think you're right. Alpha blowing up some or most of their Hot Ac's across the country and replacing with the Jack format ended up blowing up in their face. They've already changed one of the Jack stations to sports. A whole lot of people in and out of the industry are ready for these "radio" companies that have wore out their welcome here to sell and get out of Louisville. It's sad we're stuck with a trifecta of bad companies. Iheart, Summit, and Alpha.

Yeah I am wondering what is going on with WUKY. I don’t think it’s back on HD anymore either since they’ve moved to their new location.

I noticed WEKU finally got RDS as well. Now if 101.5 Jack will add it.

Other than Jack FM, the Lexington market has been quiet. No other big format changes. I think LM could do some things with their stations. 106.3 sounds like 96.9.

Ive heard some 90’s being sprinkled in 105.5.

Still waiting to see if WLAP will put a translator on 101.1. Just don’t see that getting approved.
