Hello all,
My name is Cory. I’m at the very top of the 18-34 age demo. I came to this board over a decade ago to learn more about the business of radio. I remember being really mad about a few format changes when I was younger and didn’t understand why because me and most of my friends liked the stations involved (WDRQ/Detroit 2005, WRWK/Toledo 2009). Now, with a small understanding on ratings/revenue/demos/etc. I get it.
When I was in grade school/middle school, I used to listen to Casey Kasem every week on my local Top 40 (then, WVKS/Toledo) and would often rehearse the charts to family, dreaming of becoming a DJ. Practicalities and life experience drove me to become an RN instead.
The only radio experience I have is when I did a radio show on my college station until sophomore year, when the demands of nursing school just got to be too much. But I would consider myself to be a radio geek and enjoy the insights from most everyone here.
