Help da Cap

Ok y'all a friend of ours needs help - soon. I can't give thousands of dollars but if we all give a little maybe Cap can keep going. I would do this for any of you, my friends. Mail a donation to me and I'll forward all to Cap. Beth Fury 336 Lafayette Street, Suite 200, New Orleans, LA 70130, or email me at [email protected]. I want Cap to keep his dream alive which is something I think we all would want. Would your friends help you if you were in his shoes??? Spread the word. Seriously people what if you needed help.......

Cap we care. Yes we do. I only met you once but I have known you my whole life! I have to get to April but I will help. I dont have a lot. I am broke actually. But I will do something. How can those Marshals be so heartless! Thank you to those people that stopped to help Da Cap.

Beth, I'll be more than happy to help,... ESPECIALLY after seeing tonight's newscast on 4 WWL. I'm not a really big fan of 4, as I prefer WDSU, but Bill Capo did a great job! I feel so bad for Cap. It seemed they "knocked him off his feet, then kicked him repeatedly after he was down." Horrible! I knew his situation was not good, but I didn't know it was THIS BAD.

I felt so terrible to see the Cap in such disappointment and frustration over this situation. I want to help in as many ways as I possibly can. Give me a couple'a more weeks so I can pay off UNO for my classes this semester and I'll be glad to help!

Captain Humble has been more than kind to us all to invite us into his restaurant and into his life. I think we all can agree here. Times are hard, especially these days after that b**ch we call Katrina and this bust of an economy. Let's help the Captain. I'm with you!

What get's me is what my girlfriend Jamie said after seeing the story herself:

"Why, if the Cap has been there for so long, would the landlord kick him out?!?! Now that he's out, do you think he'll be renting that place to anyone else anytime soon with this economy?!?!"

I say probably not! That place will sit empty with NO business renting it, so if that landlord "thinks" he's not getting any money now, wait as the months pass.

What a blooming idiot!

Jeremy

"No one cares?!!" Cap....hello?! I also lost everything in Katrina, and we have held Radio reunions at your place...No one cares?! f@#!

Wayne,

Capt. Humbel lost his livelyhood. I recgonize you know him and I don't, but I don't think it's right to go criticizing him for saying, "Nobody cares,". He is in a place none of us want to find ourselves in, losing our job, and in his case business/passion/baby etc. Beyond that he may lose his home due to the insurance issue. Do you really think it would be unfair to say, "Nobody cares" when what you've worked to build is taken from you and you may not have a home on top of that?

The point I'm getting at is to put yourself in Cap's position. I respect you for noting how you lost everything in Katrina, many good people did. You still had a job after the storm and still do today. You get a paycheck to support yourself, Cap doesn't even have that coming in for him now. It's the double whammy effect and it's brutal.

Not trying to start an argument or fight with you, but just offering up reason to Cap's words regarding his plight.

I apologize if I expressed any anger...I don't want to stoop to the level of keschjr...

These are the most trying emotional and economic times we have ever seen in our lifetime...Cap (an all), I only wish the best for you and yours. If we all hang in there TOGETHER, we will make it thru these times.

Everyone have a safe and happy St. Patty's weekend!

Howard Castay sent me the most wonderful passages that I think we all could read and try to get a lil' out of:

2 Corinthians 5 in The Message translation

This is all from 2 Corinthians 5
1-5 For instance, we know that when these bodies of ours are taken down like tents and folded away, they will be replaced by resurrection bodies in heaven—God-made, not handmade—and we'll never have to relocate our "tents" again.
,,,,,,,
6-8 That's why we live with such good cheer. You won't see us drooping our heads or dragging our feet! Cramped conditions here don't get us down. They only remind us of the spacious living conditions ahead. It's what we trust in but don't yet see that keeps us going. Do you suppose a few ruts in the road or rocks in the path are going to stop us? When the time comes, we'll be plenty ready to exchange exile for homecoming.

9-10 Cheerfully pleasing God is the main thing, and that's what we aim to do, regardless of our conditions. Sooner or later we'll all have to face God, regardless of our conditions. We will appear before Christ and take what's coming to us as a result of our actions, either good or bad.

-------------------

A New Life
14-15 Our firm decision is to work from this focused center: One man died for everyone. That puts everyone in the same boat. He included everyone in his death so that everyone could also be included in his life, a resurrection life, a far better life than people ever lived on their own.
16-20 Because of this decision we don't evaluate people by what they have or how they look. ...... God has given us the task of telling everyone what he is doing. We're Christ's representatives. God uses us to persuade men and women to drop their differences and enter into God's work of making things right between them.

According to the report Cap has been delinquent on his rent since December, why are we just now finding out about this? I'm surely not trying to be hateful at a time like this, but there are a few things that I noticed that definitely could have been done to avoid this. I wish Cap the best and hope this comes to a resolve.

Wayne, I don't know Cap either, but we all know the media can portray things in certain lights and I think Captain was just talking about people in general and not his friends on here who have at least tried to support him or even the people who came by and saved his business equipment from being stolen.

And on one comment someone said, I find that many times we hide our problems from our best friends even as we don't want to show the card we are dealt until we have to.

I know Cap wasn't referring to his friends when he said "nobody cares".
He was very upset and I believe most of us would have been the same had we pulled
up to our homes and found all of our personal belongings on our front lawns.
That landlord did a very "classless" thing - it would have been more humane to temporarily
change the locks rather then put thousands of dollars of equipment in a parking lot.
I truly hope NO ONE EVER rents from this idiot !

Landlords can be total a'holes...that is why I have hated renting since that damn storm...what goes around comes around, so may that horrible karma the landlord dished out return upon him tenfold. My landlord made me move into another one of her houses 6 months ago because she was selling her property to the RW development here in Biloxi with the new proposed casino development. That sale fell through, I had to move for nothing. Uggggh...landlords!

Cap, we hope the building sits unrented and brings him NO REVENUE for the way he treated you. Prolly owned by a foreigner (did I say that?)!

I just wish I was in a financial postition to be able to help out...I'm trying to get into my rebuilt place here in the next few weeks myself...moving again (hopefully this is it!)...to hell with landlords.

I, for one would LOVE to know the name and address of your former "landlord." If I can't help you physically, I've been known to send scathing letters, unrelentlessly, and on your behalf I think we should begin a writing campaign to let them/him/her that their actions were uncredulous and unforgiveable. A swift kick in their ass is what I wish I could give that group and or person. Phyllis
