This might be a day late, but my advice (this is only advice) you (know) more then me.

Talk to the listenners like you are their best friend. Don't talk at us ("Hey listenners", "Boys and girls")
Talk to us (Personally)

Listen to other formats (AC, Urban AC) Listen to other formats to get ideas. A Good idea you can start, I recomend you to listen to "The Touch" That is a LIVE 24/7 Urban/AC format from ABC Radio Networks in Dallas, Texas. Look up either of these affilates that carry them (ZTwins.com once you are on their site, choose 1620am), another one might me (Google.com-look up "The Touch 95.3") Listen weekdays 10am-3pm. There is a women on there by the name of "Pam Gibson" She is a good example, of how you (Talk to us "Personnally"). Their website is (randbandoldschool.com)

Another (excelent) example of this, listen to W I L D 1090am weekdays 10am-1pm. There is a live Syndicated Talk Show on there "Warren Balentine" The way he talk, it make you want to listen more and more. It feel like he is talking to you directly (despite some of his topics that you might not agree with) It's the way he present himself, the way he talk to the listener.

Personnally I'm not a big fan of the AC format. I do however listen to "Your Weekend With Jim Brickman" I like it because of the way he present himself. I don't like some of the music, other then that, I like the way he present himself, it's a good weekend show to listen to. It's nice.

I wish you good luck in you radio career.
