Help Me Catch Up With the Tech, Please?

Does anyone know a company in the Cincinnati area that would be able to take an aircheck cassette and convert it to Mp3?

Nobody accepts air check tapes anymore, so I needs to be wit' da program. Unfortunately, I'm not set up to do that sort of thing at home, and new computers are just not in the budget right now.

Any help would be appreciated......and if you're working at a station that is looking for part-time help, either on-air or behind the scenes, let me know privately at [email protected]

Thanks!

Well...

it seems you have a computer, so hopefully you have an audio card.

1. Go to sourceforge.net. find and download Audicy (audio recorder and editor), it's free

2. Find a cassette machine with a line out aux output. (you'll need a mini to mini cord)

3. Put it in your Line In on your computer

4. Record the aircheck in audicy, you can then edit, eq, or do whatever you want with it.

5. Save it, it should be an MP3, or export it as MP3.

6. Send it to your hearts desire, and you have a great free editor to boot.

7. Save you bucks for interview clothes.

8. Best of luck with your jobhunt, and welcome to the 21st century!!! <grin>

And just as good as Cool Edit Pro and it's successors.

If your cassette player has RCA outputs you can find a cord at Radio Shack with RCA male on one end and mini on the other end.
