Help...need 540 Harris Gates or SX series crystal

Folks....we are trying to save a CP for 540 on our small market AM in Sylva, NC. It's along story but the end result is we need to convert our 1KW gates one on 680 kHz over to 540 kHz. Harris has everything we need and can get it to us by tomorrow except a 540 crystal. I am told the NE6A crystal on 2160 kHz is used in the Harris Gates or SX series transmitter. Each transmitter has two of them but needs only one to operate.

Does anyone know of a 540 station which might loan me one and I will buy them two new crystals from Harris. Is there any alternative source I could check?

Many thanks!

See if you can get your hands on a AM stereo exciter that has a frequency synthesizer - set it to 540 and feed the RF out to the external input on the oscillator card (you have to move a jumper on the card for this).

Me again - A note of caution - I believe the external input to that card is TTL level. Check the manual for external drive requirements to be sure. Also, turn off the pilot tone on the exciter and don't feed it any audio.

Art. Did you try calling the CE of WFLF in Orlando? 50KW at 540 and I thought they had a backup when I worked there that might be able to spare a xtal.
