Help needed

I am not currently "in the biz", but am doing some research for a project with music history. I know that there are books that can be purchased that offer single info such as when released, peak chart position and how many weeks, etc...

I am on a non-existant budget and am looking for some reliable online info that would provide such info. I am on allmusic.com but the info there is not so specific. Any help would be much appreciated. I am looking at country and pop/rock from the 80's to today.

Thanks.

My local public library has an entire bookcase full of books that deal with songs, with each book focusing on a specific genre in a specific time period. I think they are under call number 861. You probably won't be able to get any information after 2005 in book form yet, but that should be good enough for most purposes.

Thanks. I will check in to my local library. I was really hoping there would be something online.

Thanks.
