Job Description – VP / National Operations Director
Canadian Traffic Network ULC
A wholly owned subsidiary to the Global Traffic Network – (GNET on NASDAQ)
Qualifications:
*Strong News Room / Program Director background
*Great People Skills
*Well respected in the industry
*Great trainer – Quality Freak - Infectious work ethic
*Previous Traffic / News reporting experience a BIG plus – and / or extensive management experience that deals with both.
*Good task master with ability to delegate to market managers
*Able to travel often and manage a rapidly growing coast to coast staff
*Good business mind to go with programming / news mind
*Strong understanding of contemporary technical applications and radio communication equipment and Television broadcast and ENG systems.
*Detail and Organizational skills at the highest levels
*Experience and competency with Excel
Duties:
*Manage and grow a national traffic and news operation
*Work directly with and report to the President of the company
*Day to day management and development of 7 market managers and 60 employees
*Work with major broadcast partners at the highest levels
*Continue to improve Canada’s best traffic and news network
*Grow our affiliate network (in new markets and current markets)
*Create a product – second to none in the industry
*Manage operations budget in excess of 7 million dollars
*Oversee AP and relationships with our outside vendors
